- 1 : Reserved
 - 2 : Tape thickness
- O : 9 µm
 - C : 13 µm (normal)
 
 - 3 : Track pitch
- O : 20.41 µm (wide)
 - C : 13.591 µm (normal)
 
 - 4 : Identifies a prerecorded or not
- O : Prerecorded
 - C : non-prerecorded
 
 - P : Write Protection
- O : Protected
 - C : Not protected
 
 - A : Physical alignment
 
Tape Length (with standard recording speed of 8.15 mm/s):
- 30 m -> 1 hr
 - 60 m -> 2 hr
 
This time is doubled in LP mode (32 kHz / 12 bit non-linear).
DDS also has:
- 90 m -> 3 hr
